At times, when you stand up for yourself – someone will pull the chair from under you. They may want your seat at the table. Perhaps they dislike the fact you were sitting there in the first place. But you cannot let their schemes stop you from following through with your plans. As the saying goes:
“What you do is your karma. How people react to it is theirs” – Dr Wayne Dyer
I get the feeling that Spotted Owlets understand this.
I have seen nearly 27 owlets since January 2019. I spot them when I go birding early in the morning. Nocturnal by nature, these owls are alert to their surroundings for most of the day. Only high noon sees their melatonin levels take a dip, which makes them a little tired.
If I am noisy around them, they bob their heads and fly to a different perch. They chirr and whistle until I go away. Where there are juveniles, they even screech. If I am quiet and unobtrusive, they reward me by sticking around. Still, they remain cautious as I quietly observe them.
Like the Spotted Owlets, when you stand up for yourself – you must own your space. You cannot sit back and watch as others shove you aside. But neither can you assert your influence over how someone else reacts to what you do.
The only thing you can control is your response to it.
Sunlight drips,
like a thirsty
waterfall,
trickling down
scruffy breasts
of owls; their
anxious hoots
– none the wiser
than cackling lips
of bystanders.
Ha ha…love the pics and your take on karma & spotted owls 😁😀
I have always felt that you click more owls…now you know why!!

Thank you, Uma! Oh yes, I could never deny my partiality towards owls.
